Avowed: Review Round Up

The dominos are finally starting to fall for Xbox and up next is the Obsidian RPG not named Elder Scrolls. Avowed has had a storied development full of juicy rumors, but that doesn’t matter because all I’ve heard from anyone who’s gotten to see or play the game is how promising the game seems to be. 2025 appears to be yet another year that many are claiming will finally be the year of Xbox… is that true? Only one way to find out. Time to ask the question. Is Avowed a day-one purchase?

Review Round-Up:

I loved Avowed 52 hours later and it’s the nerdy RPG I hoped it would be The Living Lands is a beautiful world that rewards you for exploration with mystery’s to uncover and puzzles to solve Fun combat that challenges you to use various weapons, spells and utilizing your companions This is not a game to rush to end, from the main story, side quests and treasure hunts – take your time and enjoy the ride 9.5/10 – Parris Lilly, (um… not sure how to source Parris. He’s awesome, though.)

Having swam through its waters, climbed its mountains, and sprinted headlong into battle, Avowed has lit a fire in me that will burn long after the Envoy’s journey draws to a close. It exudes such exuberance that I want to right the wrongs of my past and play Pillars of Eternity. This is a fantasy RPG with wider appeal, yet despite its mainstream flare, its classic roots are buried deep beneath the surface, anchoring it in place like an ancient oak. – Emma Flint, GamingBible

Avowed’s plot is ultimately what makes it a success. The Living Lands are rich with history, cultures, and troubles. The search for a cure to the Dreamscourge is at the center of The Envoy’s journey, but equally memorable are the region-based stories that play out along the way. With several inhabited regions to explore, The Envoy comes to be embroiled with issues both fantastic and real, creating engaging scenarios that hit home. – Charles Hartford, But Why Tho?
