Xbox has been on quite a rollercoaster over the last few months. One minute, they’re releasing one great game after another, and the next, they’re raising console and game prices because it’s easier for someone making $30K a year to pay more for video games than a trillion-dollar company. It’s like that classic say, “two steps forward and then a rake up the butt.” The question that remains, is Doom: The Dark Ages another rake up the butt for Xbox or yet another step in the right direction for the company’s long journey back to the good ol’ days? Only one way to find out. REVIEW ROUND UP TIME!!! It’s just an article, but do me a favor and imagine a bunch of fireworks going off when I said that last part. Very exciting stuff.
Review Round-Up:
Doom: The Dark Ages is aggressive as hell, loud, fast, and all the fun you want. Sometimes you just need to pick up a shotgun, a flail, and a saw-bladed shield and rip through baddies. To put it simply, Doom The Dark Ages is rewarding. The gameplay matters most and ultimately makes up for any weaknesses in the story. – Kate Sánchez, But Why Thou?
Doom: The Dark Ages takes a very positive step forward for me in the sense that it really added a narrative experience I could get invested in. The gameplay is still as tight as expected with crisp movement and the added weapons alongside the staples of Doom were a nice touch and fit well with the medieval theme, especially the shield saw. – Dan Jackson, Gamer Social Club
