Cast n Chill: Review Round Up

When I first saw Wombat Brawler’s Cast n Chill, it was love at first sight. A cozy fishing game blanketed by a beautiful art style, what’s not to love? Anyone who has followed me for any amount of time knows about my very famous scientific formula, HORSE or FISH, which states that for a game to be a true game of the year contender, it needs to feature either HORSE or FISH. An often misunderstood element of the formula is that this means that a fishing game should be automatically nominated. Obviously, for a fishing game to be nominated, it would need to either feature “HORSE” or more from the category of “FISH.” But I don’t need to dive too deep into this because you obviously already know all this. Also, it doesn’t matter where Cast n Chill falls on the scale of “HORSE or FISH” because today is all about whether or not this beautiful-looking fishing game can deliver the chill time it promises. So what’s the final result for Cast n Chill? Is it just (just, haha) another great cozy game or something that can reach the masses? Is Cast n Chill the Call of Duty killer we’ve all been waiting for? Well, with the power of three talented reviewers combined, this is Review Round Up for Cast n Chill.

Review Round-Up:

The sound design in Cast n Chill, though, is the real triumph. The sound of the water as the boat travels through it, the silence that gets broken up by the sound of your line being reeled in, it’s incredible. And it goes a long way towards immersing you in the game. – Anthony Franklin, Vice
