The Video Game Road Map For The Rest of 2018

With E3 behind us, it’s now time to look forward to the rest of the year. Sure, we know what’s coming out in 2025, I’m looking at you Death Stranding, but what about the games that are coming out in the back half of 2018? A lot of people in the gaming industry are acting like this Fall isn’t going to be as exciting as years in the past, but I disagree. Sure, Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to have forced a lot of games to move to February 22 (for some reason) but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to have a lot to play for the rest of the year. LET’S TAKE A LOOK!

Mario Tennis Aces

This latest installment of Mario Tennis looks like a real ace. Not picking it up would be a real fault on your part. Tennis!

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One

Release date: June 26

While we all wait for Life is Strange 2, we’ll have yet another spinoff title in the Life is Strange universe. One major positive about this game though is that it connects the story of Life is Strange 1 and 2 and anything that advances the story and gets me one step closer Life is Strange 2 is a win for me.

NieR: Automata (Become as Gods Edition)

Platform: Xbox One

Release date: June 26

With an interesting (and odd) story, incredible gameplay, and likable characters, NieR proved to be one of last year’s best games on PS4 and now it’s coming to Xbox One.

Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy

There are no Nazis in this game, but there are a lot of cute characters and enjoyable puzzles. Also, have I mentioned that you can play this on the go?!

Octopath Traveler

Remember Final Fantasy 6?  Well, what if that mixed its pixel art style with more modern-day lighting effects? Is that something you might be interested in? Did I mention that you can play it on the go!?!?!?

The Banner Saga 3

Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch

Release date: July 24

The epic conclusion to what is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated series to come out during this generation. It’s Final Fantasy Tactics mixed with Game of Thrones. What’s not to love about that?

Remember when No Man’s Sky came out and everyone got really upset that multiplayer wasn’t in the game, even though the developers said it would be? Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2

So let me tell you about this guy named Mega Man. He’s a boy, that’s a robot, that fights other robots, takes their powers, and then goes and fights more robots. It’s pretty cool. Mega Man X, is like what I just described but a little different. And after this incredible description, if you’re still not convinced, watch the trailer and find out for yourself if… X gonna’ give it to you.

Release Date: August 10

Madden 19 is a football game.

We Happy Few

Platform: PC, Xbox One, and PS4

Release Date: August 10

We Happy Few is not a football game. In fact, I think this Bioshock-like game is about society being forced to take drugs to avoid the reality and harshness that this painful world causes. Maybe it’s a Madden 19 spin-off. I’ll look into it.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Platform: PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch

The tale of Clementine has been one of heartache and heartbreak… I assume. Much like many of you out there, I didn’t play season 2, but I really want to and now that I know season 3 is the final season. Also, random side note, if you haven’t touched this series before, Season One is a masterpiece.
