PlayStation’s Biggest Releases for September 2019

September is typically the month that sets the tone for the rest of the video game year and if this year’s September is any indication of what’s to come, the rest of 2019 is going to be a lot of fun. To start things off, Sony apparently forgot that PS Plus is best when there’s nothing to play and because of this, everyone’s busy months just got busier.

GAMES COMING TO PS PLUS

Batman: Arkham Knight

Darksiders 3

NEW RELEASES

Catherine: Full Body (September 3)

From the creators of amazing Persona series is the remaster of their cult PS3 game Catherine… but what is Catherine exactly? Well, from what I understand, you play as a guy who has cheated on his girlfriend and then there’s is a bunch of heaven and hell stuff happening and then the gameplay starts and it’s modern-day Q*bert. It’s a classic!

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered (September 3)

For decades now, my friend Jimmy has told me that he absolutely loves this game. I personally always thought he was kidding since I’ve only ever heard people say they loved Final Fantasy 7 or, if you’re one of the cool kids, say how much you love Final Fantasy 9. I just assumed that Final Fantasy 8 wasn’t real or if it was, it was one of those side games like Final Fantasy 11, but since the internet didn’t really exist then, maybe you played it on a calculator. The point is, this game is real and good enough to deserve a remaster. What’s it about? Not really sure. All I know is, you have a gun with a sword on it, at some point you dance with a girl, and the main character is named after the noise a bird makes. IT’S A CLASSIC!

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (September 6)

Monster Hunter World resulted in thousands of Monster Hunter fans telling everyone, “I told you so,” as we all discovered just how much fun the latest edition to the game was. Well, it’s been what feels like 5 years since the release of the game and the expansion is finally here now with snow, a grappling hook, and more monsters… I’d like to make a joke about this but this looks amazing and if there wasn’t so much coming out this month, I’d absolutely buy this day one.

NBA 2K20 (September 6)

“Basketball is my favorite sport. I like the way they dribble it up and down the court” -Lil’ Bow Wow.

GreedFall (September 10)

GreedFall, what’s that? Well, I’m glad I asked. As someone that loved Witcher 3 and thinks Dragon Age Inquisition gets criticized way too much, I’ve been waiting for something to come out that tries to replicate what those games did so well. It’s a fantasy-based game with companions, guns, swords, and magic. It’s a lower budget version of what the Fable game will probably be and considering I’ve mentioned Dragon Age, Witcher 3, and Fable all in the same paragraph, I feel like by law this game is a day one purchase.

Borderlands 3 (September 13)

Do you remember Borderlands 2? Alright!

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered (September 20)

One of the best RPGs of the PS3 era, Ni No Kuni getting a remaster on the PS4 is like a dream come true. While I could go on and on about this game, I’ll just say the only thing you need to hear to get excited about this. It’s the closest thing to the open-world Pokemon game we’ve all been begging for.

FIFA 20 (September 27)

In some countries, they don’t call this Soccer and to that I say, get with the times!
