Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake: Review Round Up

Growing up I would see the character art for Dragon Quest and wonder why they looked like the characters from Dragon Ball. Little did I know that these incredible-looking characters came from the brilliant mind of Akira Toriyama. That said, not only did I not know why the characters looked the way they did, but I never knew why people loved Dragon Quest. For whatever reason, despite my love of the character designs I never thought to ask anyone to buy me a Dragon Quest game. Thankfully, that all changes today! With the release of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, I’ll finally be able to jump into the legendary RPG series and find out why it’s so beloved. That is, of course, if it’s any good…

Review Round-Up:

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake made me a fan of Dragon Quest. This remake is an excellent introduction to Square Enix’s third RPG pillar, which will hopefully continue to grow with this and the 1 and 2 remakes coming next year. All of the updates turn this classic 1980s RPG into one that feels modern and accessible. Even with some slight tech hiccups, you’ll not want to miss this stellar remake if you want to call yourself an RPG fan. – Mick Abrahamson, But Why Tho?

After spending over 50 hours with the game and exploring every nook and cranny of the world, I’m convinced that not only is it brilliant, but this might be the best new entry point to the series. Zach Wilkerson, RPG Fan
