Typically, for the Tuesday article, I talk about the new games that are out for the PS4 and more specifically, the games that I’m most interested in. This week though, because of the huge holiday sales, I’m going to change things up a little bit. Today, I’m naming some of the best deals that everyone should consider. And because I’m bad at math, I only have the regular PS4 discount listed. Some (not all) of these games are even cheaper if you have PS Plus.
Also for the full list, be sure to head over to the Playstation store because there are a lot of games on sale and many of them… actually almost all of them will not be mentioned in today’s article, and no, it’s not because I’m lazy, it’s because there are seriously a lot of games on sale today. https://store.playstation.com/en-us/grid/STORE-MSF77008-HOLISALE17GG/1?platform=ps4
For Your Consideration:
Rocket League $13.99
Rocket League is, for me, one of the best games of the generation and if you’ve managed to miss out on this fantastic game, you absolutely have to try it. Why? What makes it so great? What even is Rocket League you ask? Well, it’s soccer but instead of playing as talented Portuguese men, you’re a car… or you control a car, I’m still working on the lore. Either way, it’s great!
Injustice 2 $29.99
With a 50% discount, not picking up Injustice 2 would be a crime and… well, that would be bad because in Injustice 2 you play as super heroes and their whole thing is not committing crimes. Well, I guess that’s not technically true because… well, I guess you’re going to need to play Injustice 2’s story mode to find out what I’m talking about and believe me when I tell you, it is one of the best stories in any game that’s come out this year. Yes, it’s a fighting game, and yes, that is a turn off for some people, but if that’s really a problem, then put the thing on easy and go and experience one of the best games of 2017.
Life is Strange Season One $6.99
Life is Strange may not be the very best game of 2015, but this time altering adventure game was certainly my favorite game of that year. Honestly, I could talk about how much this game means to me for hours, days… you get it, I like it a lot. Featuring two of my favorite video game characters of all time that are both performed by two great actresses that help create a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Life is Strange is “hella” cool, and a must have.
Metal Gear Solid 5 $15.99
Metal Gear Solid 5, another PS4 classic. One of the most fun games out there. With so many different variations on how to approach each mission, MGS 5 is a game that you’ll be able to go back to multiple times. What’s that? Oh, you heard the story doesn’t make much sense because of some weird drama between the studio and the creator of the game? Well, don’t worry, the Metal Gear story has never made much sense. Just do what I did and jump in there. I promise, you will have a blast… oh and the intro of that game is kind of awful but once you get past that point, the fun shows up.
Everybody’s Golf $19.99
Do you remember when we were younger and we all pretended to like golf because Tiger Woods was so awesome? Do you remember that because we all did that, there were actually good golf games? Well, guess what. A good golf game has returned in the form of Everybody’s Golf or as we use to call it, Hot Shots Golf. If you don’t know what that is, just think Mario Golf but instead of playing as a plumber or a monkey, you’re actually able to fully customize your character. It’s not only one of the best sports games of the year but it’s also one of the best games overall to come out in 2017.
Final Fantasy 15 $24.99
As a little boy, I loved Final Fantasy 9, but with each new addition to the franchise, my attention continued turning to other games. Final Fantasy 15 thankfully was the game that brought me back to the franchise and in a big way. I’m pretty sure I could have already beaten the game by now, or at the very least, be near the end, but with a world rich with content, I continue to find myself exploring and completing as many quests as I can find. If you’re looking for a fun RPG to jump into, FF15 is your game. On top of that, if you do end up loving the game, it’s the gift that keeps on giving… well, first you have to give them money and then they give, so it’s sort of like a store in a way, but a really great store with awesome hair… what I’m trying to say is, there’s a lot of DLC for this game and from what I’ve heard, almost, if not, all of it has been met with high praise.
Banner Saga $6.99
When it comes time to write about my favorite games for the PS4, Banner Saga will easily make that list. Final Fantasy Tactics combined with Game of Thrones, do I have your attention yet? A beautiful art style that’s draped over fantastic characters fills this incredibly memorable setting and when players aren’t interacting with the story, they’ll find themselves swept away into the tense, strategic battles that push the story along. Much like Life is Strange, Banner Saga is a game that I could talk about all day, and I promise, if you pick this game up for this insanely low price, you too will be adding a new game to your favorites list.
Pick of The Week:
Inside $9.99
From the studio that brought you Limbo, comes my personal 2016 Game of The Year: Inside. I don’t like to throw around the “P” word very often, especially when discussing games, but Inside is as close to perfect as it gets. Anyone that has every played a puzzle platformer can tell you, the controls make or break a game, and Inside’s controls are flawless. On top of that, the art style is incredible and the story telling, despite the game having absolutely no dialogue, is done to perfection. Seriously, it’s one of the best games of the entire generation, and if you’re not picking this game up now, I’m just not sure you’re making the right choices in your life.
Well, that is it for today’s “Playstation Store, What are You Up To???.” Feel free to let me know down in the comments what game or games you plan on picking up. Do you have any recommendations? I’d absolutely love to hear them! Take it easy guys and I will see you tomorrow.
