Last week so much happened inside the PlayStation Store… oh wait, NOTHING HAPPENED. Yes, Banner Saga 3 came out (review coming soon) and No Man’s Sky NEXT (impressions coming soon) but other than that, NOTHING. What about this week? Only one way to find out.
So many indie-titles that have come out this year have focused on platforming, but Chasm, much like a lot of the games being discussed today, is attempting to separate itself from the pack by reliving the glory days of Castlevania. Based on some of the reviews floating around the tubes of the internet, if that style of game is something you’re into, then Chasm is the game for you.
Okay, so there wasn’t a lot going on in terms of new releases, and to be honest, a lot of the games that are on sale are games that always go on sale. So instead of only talking about Chasm, let’s talk about a few other smaller titles that are coming out very soon.
Donut County ($10.39)
Donut County has somehow become one of my most anticipated games for the rest of the year. Of everything coming out for the rest of the year, it’s actually the only game that I have pre-ordered. Maybe the fact it’s the fact that if you pre-order the game it only costs $10, but I like to think that it’s because it’s a unique looking game that really seems like it’s going to deliver on being a lot of fun.
State of Mind ($35.99)
I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what this game is. I’ve watched two streams that have shown off gameplay and the best comparison I seem to be able to make is that it’s if Quantic Dream made a walking simulator. The game is very heavily narrative based and brings a really cool art style to the table. If you’re looking for a game that’s main goal and focus is to deliver an interesting story, then State of Mind is something you should keep an eye out for.
Death’s Gambit ($15.99)
Remember Salt and Sanctuary? This is that, but better.
Guacamelee! 2 ($15.99)
Do you like Mexican Wrestling, son? Well, what if you combined your love for Mexican wrestling with Castlevania or Metroid… if only there was a specific word for this type of game. Listen, the original Guacamelee was fantastic and there’s no reason to believe that the sequel will be any less great.
Pizza Titan Ultra ($11.99)
You own a pizza company that delivers their pizzas by way of mechs, how could I not put this on the list?!?!
