007 First Light: Review Round Up

The year is 1952, and every chimney sweep this side of London is looking for a hero. I guess Sherlock and Robin Hood just weren’t getting the job done. Author Ian Fleming heard the call and immediately ran to his typewriter and created the greatest spy the world had ever seen. I’m talking James Bond, BABY. Nearly a decade later, the British discovered electricity, and with it came the movies. Suddenly, James Bond was more than just someone who only existed in the imagination of orphans begging for more soup, and with that came the legendary run that has led all the way to the character starring in his own video game. The question stands, though, is this game a Doctor No or worth every Moneypenny?

Review Round-Up:

The game also showcases IOI’s unmatched level design. Each location is a maze of secret rooms and alternative routes. Even players who explore with a fine-tooth comb will probably miss some of the truly niche hideaways across the game’s 14 hours. – Jordan Middler, VGC

First Light feels like a monumental event for the character and an evolution of everything that IOI has been crafting over the last 30 years. Even if you’re not the biggest James Bond fan, you’re getting a remarkable third-person shooter that is brimming with barnstorming setpieces and first-rate care for the world’s greatest cinematic and literary action hero. – Sam Comrie, Pocket Tactics
